FIREFIGHTERS had to remove the roof of a car to extricate a casualty following a crash near Bilbrook.

Minehead and Williton firefighters were called just after 9pm last night (Tuesday, July 11) to the bends between Withycombe straight and Bilbrook on the A39.

On arrival the crews found there was only one car involved in the incident, with one person trapped in the vehicle.

The crews worked to remove the roof of the car to release the casualty, who was left in the care of the ambulance service.
