THERE maybe no business like show business but one Somerset actress has made sure it was her business to help other actors and actress get noticed.
Last Wednesday, Kate Davies Speak, launched the fourth Show Reel Share Day and called on all actors and actress across the county and the country to share their show reels on Twitter so they would be seen by as many casting agents and directors as possible.
Kate who lives in Bristol, came up with the idea two years ago when she wanted to share her own show reel.
Instead of doing it on her own she invited other actor friends to share their show reels at the same time and thus Show Reel Share Day was born.
Reflecting on the latest event, Kate 35, said: βIt was very popular and starting trending on Twitter at 2am in the morning.
"It did grab the attention of theatrical agents, casting people and directors. A lot of people in the industry were looking forward to it.
βI would love to know what response actors and actresses get from the day.
"It might be too early for them to say as it has only been a week since it happened.β
Katesaid to get a casting appointment you needed an agent and if you were liked the director would ask your agent for your show reel tape.
By getting the show reels on Twitter it by past this element.
