ENTHUSIASM is the key to success and if you have it in abundance then you might want to join a new Youth Theatre in Taunton.

A taster session for the Youth Theatre to be set up at the Brewhouse in September will be open to all young people to come and see what it is all about on August 8 from 10.30am - 12.30pm.

The try out session will be run by Nick White, Director of Wassail Theatre, who hopes it will encourage youngsters of all varying degrees of talent to join in the fun Nick said: “The taster session is to give youngsters an idea of what we are doing ahead of the regular sessions in September.

“No experience is necessary what we want to do is for the youngsters to come along tell stories and work towards them giving a performance.

“I have done a number of these events before in Bath, Plymouth and Bristol.

“I would like young people to come along and get involved.

“Theatre is a good way of getting people to come out of their shells.

“The important thing to remember is their is no pressure on them.

“This is not all about putting on an all singing, all dancing show. It is about getting them to be able to tell stories which leads towards a mini performance.

“One of the main aims is for them to make friends and enjoy the creative process.”

The creative process is high on the list at Nick’s work with the Wassail Theatre.

The company like to hold plays in different location other than a theatre like a pub or in their next production on a horse and cart going across the Somerset Levels.

Nick added: “Somerset as a county along with Taunton and the surrounding area has a wealth of interesting stories, myths and legends.

“And what is good about this Youth Theatre is working with young people to give them ideas and to hear their ideas.”

Tickets for the Youth Theatre Try Out Session at the Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton cost £6.

The taster session will take place between 10.30am - 12.30pm.
