ANOTHER shop is Wellington has closed its doors in the town centre.
Jilly, Tilly and Boo closed its doors on Saturday, July 29.
The news comes following the shock closure of E J Teare newsagents, a business which has been running for 11 years on South Street earlier in July.
But the owner of the quirky store, which is known for selling chalk paint, says that her shop closing is not a sign of a declining town centre, as she has been forced to close due to the declining health of a loved one which is set to take up a lot of her time.
“It’s definitely not a sign of a declining High Street,” said owner Jilly Sims.
“Sadly, I have some big personal commitments coming up because of illness in the family and I don’t have the time to meet those and run a busy shop.”
The shop held a closing-down sale for customers to get their hands on the stock before the closure.
It is believed that another shop selling gifts, cards, and children’s toys is planning to open up in its place soon under a new name.
