BEING a 999 police call oeprator's a pretty stressed job, so it's good to see they've also got a sense of humour.

Avon and Somerset's @LisaPolice999 tweeted about three of the calls she received on Monday.

First up was a mum reporting her daughter's car stolen - turns out it had been removed by the DVLA because it wasn't taxed.

Then there was a caller ringing up about a ghost - it transpired it was a wrong number, raising a quick-witted quip from a colleague of: "Who you gonna call?" - a line from the film Ghostbusters.

And finally someone trying to top up his mobile phone was surprised to make contact with the control room - all because the first three digits of the top up code were 999.
