A crash involving a lorry and a car is adding to travel woes for thousands of holidaymakers on the M5 through Somerset.

Traffic on the southbound carriageway is severely delayed as people in their droves head to their destinations for the Bank Holiday weekend.

Motorists are facing delays from junction 14, for Thornbury, all the way to junction 26 for Wellington.

The crash happened on the roundabout of the A361 North Devon Link Road at junction 27, for Tiverton, which will have an impact on traffic attempting to leave the motorway.

There is also ‘stop-start’ traffic on the northbound carriageway between Wellington and Clevedon, junction 20.
