Local charity Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) has a new initiative for September to encourage supporters to donate postage stamps they may have been collecting or that they may receive in order to help raise funds towards the costs of keeping the charity’s three children’s hospices in the region running.

All kinds of stamps can be donated; new, old, used and collectable. Large quantities of stamps can be sold online to collectors and the money will then go to the hospices to help them in their support and care of local children and their families. The charity is hoping to raise between £4,000-£5,000 from the Stamptember initiative.

Collection post boxes will be stationed at all CHSW charity shops across the region including it’s two shops in Truro, Camborne, Helston, Penzance, St Ives, Wadebridge and Bude as well as the three children’s hospices; Little Bridge House in Barnstaple, Charlton Farm near Bristol and Little Harbour in St Austell.

Chris Cameron, Ecommerce Manager for CHSW explains how Stamptember will help the charity. “There is still great value in stamps and throughout September we would like to encourage as many people as possible to donate any stamps they may have already been collecting or to collect them from their post during the month and then donate them to us. This is a simple and cost free way of supporting the charity and will help us in continuing to offer care and support to local children and families.”

Stamps of any quantity can be dropped into the post box collection points in the CHSW Charity shops or at the hospices throughout September or you are welcome to post them to your local CHSW hospice.

CHSW offers families much needed short breaks of respite and palliative care for their children throughout the year. The whole family can stay at the hospices and spend time relaxing and making precious memories in the comfort of a home from home environment. The charity also provides families with emergency stays, end of life care and bereavement support.
