BUSINESSES in Sedgemoor can now apply for a £5,000 grant from the Sedgemoor Small Business Grant Fund.
The new scheme, spearheaded by Sedgemoor District Council (SDC), means small businesses can apply for grant of up to £5,000 which can be used to expand or boost their business through recruitment, training and marketing.
Cllr Anne Fraser, portfolio holder for Economic Growth at SDC, said: “We are known as a pro-business authority and do our best to support companies of all sizes based or relocating here. We are delighted to be in a position to help some of our smaller businesses in this way.”
Businesses will have to meet a set of criteria to qualify for the fund and can complete a form online to apply.
Steve Leahy, Chairman of Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the scheme and said he hopes it will boost smaller businesses.
