A CAR has been spotted lodged into a hedge on a busy road in Taunton. 

The car is on Wellington Road on the opposite side to the direction of travel.

Police tape can be seen around the car window. 

It is believed the incident happened at around 7.30am this morning. 

Taunton resident Claire Berryman was in the area just after the crash. 

She said: "I saw the car just after 7.30am this morning.

"The woman in the car was badly shaken and crying, but I think she was okay. She just wanted to get back to work. 

"I told her that these things happen and to call 999. 

"She said that she just lost control of the car, one minute she was driving and the next she was in the hedge."

An off-duty paramedic was at the scene to check the woman over and it is believed she did not suffer any injuries.
