NETWORK Rail is advising train passengers that a section of line in Somerset will be closed all day today (Monday, October 2).
A company spokesman said people travelling between Castle Cary and Yeovil Pen Mill should check before they travel owing to overrunning engineering works which means the line will be closed all day.
Network Rail engineers have been replacing track at Castle Cary but have not been able to complete the work on time.
The spokesman said: "We have been working on the line between Castle Cary and Yeovil Pen Mill this weekend but have not been able to complete the work on time.
"We are now working to a revised plan to complete the work. I sincerely apologise to those affected and ask that passengers check before they travel."
