HEARTLESS vandals have attacked a life-saving defibrillator on Burnham-on-Sea's seafront.
The machine, which was installed last year, was smashed outside the BARB hovercraft station in the early hours of Sunday morning (October 1st).
A spokesman for BARB Search & Rescue said: "We are disappointed that this piece of lifesaving equipment has been vandalised.
"This public access defibrillator is for the use by members of the public in case of any incidents of cardiac arrest.
"The AED (Automated External Defibrillator) will now be out of commission until South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust can arrange repair of the waterproof cabinet and check the Defib for internal damage."
