TAUNTON Town manager Leigh Robinson pointed to a lack of cutting edge in his side's 1-1 draw with AFC Totton in the FA Trophy on Saturday, with an encouraging first-half performance not enough to seal the Peacocks' progress in the competition.

"I'm pretty happy with today, and I couldn't have asked for much more," Robinson said.

"We're frustrated but not too disappointed, and looking forward to having another crack at it [in the replay] on Tuesday."

With strikers Matt Wright (suspension) and Dan Sullivan (holiday) missing, the Peacocks fielded Omar Simpson and Les Afful up front.

Both battled gamely, but neither have the aerial ability and threat of skipper Wright.

Robinson said: "We couldn't have done much more in the first half, but I think it was one of those games where at 1-0 we were always at risk, whereas if we'd got the second goal it'd have been a different story.

"The energy and desire was there - I can't fault the lads there - we just didn't quite have the cutting edge where we needed it.

"We didn't have that many chances, but the ones we did have were good ones, and we didn't take them - and a couple of decisions didn't go our way, with two penalty shouts."

The goal came from Ben Adelsbury, who has certainly made an impact with his set-piece accuracy since joining the club.

"Ben doesn't half hit them clean, and every time he steps up we fancy him to score, so long may that continue.

Wright and Sullivan are both in line to play in this Tuesday's replay at Totton (ko 7.45pm), and Robinson is hopeful they can have an impact.

"That'll make a difference. You saw in our play today that we're so used to getting deep into their half and crossing it, but Omar and Les are different types of players [to Wright].

"So that'll help us up there [at Totton], as well as bringing in a couple of fresh legs.

"It's a small pitch and a good ground, so hopefully we'll be able to get our crosses and set-pieces into the box."
