THIS old advert promoting the Somerset County Gazette was spotted in the King's Arms by Ed Boyce.
The Somerset County Gazette can still boast one thing from that time - the "largest circulation" claim.
But almost everything else has changed.
While we still carry 'situations' - job vacancies - in our classified section, we don't get much call to advertise for servants these days.
And you'd be hard pushed to take out an advertisement for 3/- (that's shillings for the uninitiated - and three of them equate to 15p in today's money).
And our address has changed - we're no longer based at Castle Green by the bus station, having moved to St James Street many years ago.
But we're still bringing the people of Taunton Deane and West Somerset all the latest news, whether it's in our newspaper every Thursday, on this website, or on Facebook and Twitter.
