Orchard Shopping Centre NOT closed despite rumours
SHOPPERS in Taunton were startled this morning after they were evacuated from the Orchard Shopping Centre - but it was just a drill.
A spokesman from Orchard said that it is a legal requirement for the centre to carry out the drill twice a year.
He said: "It was just a drill. It's a legal requirement for us to completely evacuate twice a year.
"We've now done this.
"It took a total of 28 minutes and the centre was opened again at around 10am."
