Tower block demolition progressing off town centre
HUGE chunk has been taken out of the side of this 1960s tower block off Taunton town centre.
Quantock House, in Paul Street, is being demolished floor by floor.
It previously housed the Government's Valuation Office and Defra before falling vacant a number of years ago.
It will be replaced by a nine-storey, 60 bed care home and 61 ext6ra care home units.
Work is due to start early next year, with the first residents moving in by mid-2019.
