TAUNTON Titans return to action tomorrow (Saturday) after a weekend off, with Redingensians Rams the visitors to the Commsplus Stadium (3pm).

The hosts are looking to get back to winning ways after successive defeats at the hands of Henley Hawks and London Irish Wild Geese, and it won’t be easy against opponents who travel west in fourth place.

The corresponding fixture last season was the final match of the campaign and saw the Titans wrap up a top four finish courtesy of their 33-32 victory.

Freddie Fraser (2), Conor Harbison, Arron Gibbs and Sam Prior were on the scoresheet on that occasion, but the Rams are a tougher proposition this time around and will pose a stern test.

The visitors are in good form, too, having picked up a 21-12 win at home to Redruth prior to the two-week break.

The match is the first of a tricky few weeks for Taunton, who follow Saturday’s test with a trip to Chinnor (December 2) and a home tie against Cinderford (December 9).

Elsewhere this weekend, Wellington could move top of the Cornwall & Devon League if they defeat Wessex at home and other results go their way.

Wiveliscombe are also flying high this season, and they will be looking to consolidate their place at the Somerset Premier summit with a win at Stothert & Pitt.
