ED SHEERAN’S long term song writing partner and joint Grammy award winner Amy Wadge is to play in Stogumber on February 2.

As one of the UK’s most prolific song writers, over the last decade Amy has worked with top names such as James Blunt, Ms Dynamite, LeAnn Rimes and Rebecca Ferguson. However, her most noticeable success has been writing with Ed Sheeran, a collaboration which led to them winning Song of the Year for Thinking Out Loud in Los Angeles in 2016.

Having graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, In 2002 Amy won ‘Best Female Artist’ at the Welsh Music Awards ahead of Charlotte Church and again in 2003, ahead of Cerys Matthews. She subsequently toured throughout the UK, Europe, US and Australia. On becoming a mother, Amy decided to concentrate on writing and this led to co-operation with so many other artists.

Commenting on the forthcoming concert, director of the annual Stogumber Festival, Lance Moir said “We are extremely privileged that Amy has agreed to perform in Stogumber now she is singing and touring again.

"This is a fundraising gig for our main Festival in September and I am sure the audience will experience a superb evening of pop, soul and blues from a most talented singer.

“But the event is also a double-header because joining Amy on stage will be Luke Jackson. Luke is an awarding-winning folk/blues artist who plays throughout the UK, as well as Europe and North America."

The concert will take place at 7.30pm on Friday, February 2 at Stogumber Village Hall and seats are limited to 100 people.
