COLD meats can be served with relish.

A relish is as defined: "A cooked and pickled product made of chopped vegetables, fruits or herbs, and is a food item typically used as a condiment, in particular to enhance a staple."

When using the word relish it can be used in two different ways, firstly as above and the second as follows.

One of the things which was served with relish (you can use the two meanings) was from the Year Two SPACE presentation of One Man Two Guvnors.

The relish in this farce was served up with enthusiasm and gusto by the actors and actresses in this high paced fast moving play.

The plot see Francis (Bradley Barlow) working for two bosses his first guvnor, London gangster Roscoe Crabbe (Jemma Stanfield) who 'comes back from the dead' and his second Stanley Stibbers who is 'lying low' from the police.

Somerset County Gazette:

Francis has to keep each of these parties apart so they don't know he has two jobs.

This catalogue of chaos lifts second by second, minute by minute as the comedy is couched in the cannister of laughter.

It is interesting to see how SPACE have set the stage with the audience either side of them and one section literally on the stage with the actors.

There was a moment of cultural references which made me smile. The band at one stage responding to Francis play the start of the Batman television theme tune.

The play is set in 1963 but the Batman tv series was not aired in America until 1966-three years later/ But how else would you signify to the audience Batman in 1963 without music?

You have to time travel to do cultural references otherwise the audience won't get the joke.

Somerset County Gazette:

The cast work well together and each is a strong link in a comedic farce done with aplomb.

The play ties itself up with a bow at the end as the full circle of the farce comes to a neat conclusion.
