THE Christmas Crew at Low Ham Children's Sports Association have raised £1,104 for the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment charity through collections during its Santa Tours last month.
The money will help the County Gazette-backed SURE buy equipment for the Beacon Centre cancer unit at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital.
Other donations to SURE last week included £450 from the Burnham Area Evening Flower Club from various events last year.
Collections of 5p coins handed over were £1.80 from Trevor Warner and £22 Clive Hooper and friends, of Bridgwater.
There was £29.50 from the collection pot at Wembdon Post Office and Stores, £15 from Wendy Smith in lieu of sending Christmas cards and £198.50, including £170 in 5ps, from the Beacon Centre.
The weekly total was £1,820.80, taking to £744,655.31 the amount raised since SURE and the Gazette linked up.
