TEMPERATURES across Somerset are expected to drop overnight into Wednesday morning prompting the county's ambulance service to warn residents about ice on the roads.
The Met Office says temperatures in the region could plummet to below -2°C tonight.
A spokesman for The Met Office, said: "This evening will be dry, clear and cold with light winds and a frost forming. However, it is going to become windy and cloudy with rain set to arrive in Cornwall by dawn. Minimum temperature -3 °C."
South Western Ambulance Service tweeted to urge motorists to allow extra travel time for journeys on Wednesday and advised people to avoid driving at high speeds.
Rain and freezing temperatures overnight could potentially lead to ice on the roads during the morning commute. Please allow extra travel time tomorrow morning and slow down on the roads. Better to arrive late than to not arrive at all #RoadSafety pic.twitter.com/7iNfA7ecf6
