TAUNTON's KFC store is still open despite a number of stores closing across the county after running out of chicken.

It is rumoured KFC stores in Yeovil, Bridgwater, Wincanton and Glastonbury have been forced to close after a hiccup with deliveries meant the stores ran out of chicken.

But the Taunton branch is one of the last in the county to remain open and staff say they have enough chicken to feed hungry customers throughout the day.

Unfortunately, the store has run out of corn on the cob and tea and coffee but customers will still be able to buy items from the rest of the menu.

KFC restaurants in Plymouth, Devon and Manchester have also been forced to close and fans of the fried chicken have been sharing their disappointment on Twitter.

As reported in the media, a spokesperson for KFC revealed there has been issues with its delivery system, and that its restaurants would be open again as soon as possible.

A KFC spokesman said: "We deliver fresh chicken to our restaurants, but we’re having a few hiccups with our delivery system at the moment.

"We’re really sorry for any inconvenience, and we’re working to have all our restaurants back up and running as soon as we can!”
