A BRIDGWATER man has appeared in court accused of an offence linked to the importation of a child sex doll.
Sean Julian Doel, 45, pleaded not guilty to improperly importing or being concerned in the importation of goods to which a prohibition/restriction applies when he appeared at Taunton Crown Court this morning (Monday).
The court heard that he will face a trial when the Crown Prosecution Service will claim he was involved in bringing an "indecent or obscene article" into this country.
Judge Paul Cook said: "This is an unusual case. The first such case in this area."
Doel, who was released on unconditional bail at the end of the hearing, is accused of committing the act between April 1 and April 27 last year.
The case was adjourned for trial, which is expected to last for a day and a half.
