A TODDLER sparked a 999 response after locking themselves into a car.
The two-year-old's mother called firefighters to the car park at Asda, in Creechbarrow Road, Taunton, at lunchtime on Friday.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "A fire appliance from Taunton was mobilised following a call from the mother of a two-year-old child, who had got accidentally locked in her car, along with her phone.
"A passer by had kindly lent her their phone to enable her to request our assistance.
"Whilst the child was not in distress, they were not strapped into the car seat, which had allowed them to lock the car from the inside."
The firefighters used small tools to release the child unhurt.
