THE easing weather has meant all Somerset schools are open today (Tuesday).

On Monday, dozens of schools closed after heavy snow hit the county again, just weeks after the Beast From The East struck the UK.

The Met Office says temperatures could reach 9C today, dropping to around -3C overnight.

"Most places will stay dry today with sunny spells breaking through the cloud," a forecaster said.

"A few isolated showers are possible, perhaps turning wintry at times.

"Winds will be lighter than recent days and it will feel pleasant in the sunshine."
