SO how did you do?
We asked earlier if you noticed the mistakes on a number of signs in a Taunton park.
First of all we challenged you to name the park - well, no prizes for recognising it was Goodland Gardens.
The first mistake we asked you to identify was on the Hammet Window. Among the famous people from the town's past named on the monument is Judge Jeffries. Except, he wasn't Jeffries - the Hanging Judge, who sentenced scores of people to death at the Bloody Assizes following the Monmouth Rebellion in 1685, actually spelt his surname Jeffreys.
What's wrong with this sign - apart from the mud smeared over it? Suprisingly, it's the name of the park itself. It should be Goodland Gardens, not Goodlands Garden. Maybe excusable as many people use the incorrect version anyway.
This map has been put up in the park to direct visitors unfamiliar with Taunton to various places around the town. Hopefully they won't get too confused looking for Country Walk shopping centre - it doesn't actually exist. It should be County Walk.
Hope we didn't make you trawl through all of this sign to discover the mistake, which appears twice. The error is the word 'it's' - it should be 'its'. 'It's' is used as an abbreviation of it is. The possessive form is 'its' without the apostrophe.
