Penryn Carnival's 2018 fairy king and queen were crowned at the town hall on Friday, writes Georgina Stewart.

Lillie Bullen and Taiden Peacock were crowned the new reigning fairy monarchs, while Tianna Peacock was runner-up.

Every year, the Penryn crowns a fairy king and queen.

Last year it was Rhyse and Keeley who held the title for the competition that has been running for six years.

Lillie and Taiden were not the only ones to get crowned. Lily Peters was appointed as Carnival Queen.

Judge Jo Garret said: "It was great to see the support in the town for the carnival and I know our Carnival

Queen, Fairy King and Queen and her attendant will all do a great job representing Penryn."

Chris Mullins, another town councillor, was also a judge.
