A WEST Somerset District Councillor has held nothing back in a scathing attack on vandals causing criminal damage to toilets in Minehead.

UKIP Cllr Ivor Jones, who lives in Porlock but is a ward member for Minehead Central, wrote the letter in reaction to the loos being damaged in Blenheim Gardens and Summerland Place, as reported in last week's West Somerset County Gazette.

However Cllr Jones's letter has some choice words as he speculates on the sort of person he believes might have carried out such an offence, saying it is likely 'these feral children were conceived by mistake during a drug or alcohol-fuelled encounter'.

Cllr Jones, who has written children's books, also describes the vandals as 'moronic' and 'delinquents'.

Cllr Jones initially used the word 'retard' to describe the vandals but has since retracted the comment saying the word 'delinquent' more appropriately conveyed the message he was trying to put across.

Vandalism in Minehead

Dear Sir,

How sad to see the recent reports of criminal damage inflicted upon the public loos in Minehead.

So it is just written off euphemistically as ‘vandalism’ and apparently accepted as the norm.

Doubtless the perpetrators of this mindless stupidity are most likely to be young males a year or two either side of mid-teens who do not have the intelligence or inspiration to conduct themselves in any other way.

Their moronic behaviour in damaging or destroying amenities provided at public expense for the benefit of their community simply serves to compound their inadequacy.

No doubt they would squeal loudly if their own mobile phone or other electronic gadget were misappropriated instead.

Like some sort of alien tribe, it is most likely that many of these feral children were conceived by mistake during a drug or alcohol-fuelled encounter and have manifested themselves as a product of uncaring and substandard parenting.

In turn this situation has been exacerbated by successive Governments pandering to those so-called ‘experts’ who insist that discipline should not be exercised by the parents who then abdicate their responsibilities to teachers.

Those teachers are then more or less obliged to allow those delinquents in their charge to do as they please because they say they ‘know their rights’, (but obviously not their responsibilities).

The rest of the class suffers and so the rot has been allowed to set in.    Someone knows who they are and it is now time for local authorities to offer substantial rewards for information leading to the conviction of this nuisance element, with substantial fines and/or compensation orders imposed.

But it will probably never happen.

In any event, visible police presence is now non-existent due to higher priorities elsewhere, and so in our corrupted society apathy rules, but then, who cares?

But wait, on a positive note, they say every cloud has a silver lining and here we have two.

Firstly, that sort of dysfunctional cretinous teen behaviour is a powerful case for not lowering the voting age.

And what a splendid argument for birth control!

Yours faithfully,

Ivor Jones
