A FIRE broke out at Snazaroo's factory in Minehead this morning (Monday, May 14).

Approximately 400 litres of wax used for face paint production was involved in the blaze.

Firefighters were called out the scene in Brunel Way at 7.11am and found large volumes of black smoke issuing from the building.

Crews got to work and entered the burning premises with breathing apparatus and an attack jet.

The cause of the fire was accidental and 25 per cent of the building suffered severe fire, heat and heavy smoke damage.

General manager at Snazaroo, Adrian Ryan, said that the damage was mostly smoke and that no machinery had been involved.

He said: "There will be a small amount of disruption while everything is cleaned up but there will be no business interuptions."
