MINEHEAD harbour is set to be home to a new vibrant artisan market.

Funded by the government's Coastal Communities, which aims to boost Britain's coastal towns, the first of the new markets is scheduled for Saturday, July 28.

There will also be markets the five following Saturdays, set to take place between 10am and 3pm on the harbourside.

Jill Homewood, Harbour Market and concessions development co-ordinator, said:"We would welcome quality arts, crafts, vintage, upcycling, start-ups and food producers to join us in the venture."

Stall spaces cost £25, are 3m x 3m, and are housed in colourful marquees – there are five spaces left for the first market.

Jill added: "If you wish to book a stall for all six markets, we are offering 6 for the price of 5.

"Face painters, hair braiders and other entertainment would add to the vibrancy of the markets."
