WATCHET could be set for 136 new homes on land at Cleeve Hill if plans are given the green light.
A planning application has been submitted to West Somerset Council which, if given the go-ahead, would see 136 homes developed as well the creation of new estate roads, public rights of way, cycleways and open recreational space.
The proposal also includes a plan to realign the existing public highway along Cleeve Hill, B3191, which will cost approximately £1.2m.
Planning consultant Martin Lee has been working with a local landowner on the plans.
There are two other major housing plans in the pipeline for Watchet, with Summerfield Homes and Grass Roots Planning Ltd proposing to create up to 250 homes on land at Liddymore Farm and 139 homes on land south of Doniford Road respectively.
If all three applications are granted Watchet would increase by 525 homes.
