ELECTIONS are set to take place for seats on two councils in West Somerset today. 

One seat is available on West Somerset District Council while two are up for grabs on Minehead Town Council. 

Four people are to stand for the Alcombe Ward on WSC in the election that will take place on today (June 21). 

The people standing are:

Nicole Hawkins, Poundfield Road, Minehead (LibDem

Andrew Mountford, Tregonwell Road, Minehead, (Lab)

Andy Parbrook, Poundfield Road, Minehead (Con)

Stephanie Stephens, Woodcombe Cottages, Minehead (Independent) 

Seven people are to stand for the by elections of Minehead Town Council, on which there are two seats available.

The election will also take place today. 

The people standing are: Paul Bolton, Quarry Close, Alcombe (Non political for the community independent)

Ray Coleman, Church Street, Alcombe (Con) 

David Colley, The Steep, Dunster (Lab) 

Leigh Dawson, Parkhouse Road Minehead (Con) 

Katherine See, Manor Rd, Alcombe (Lab) 

Sandra Slade, Hayfield Road, Alcombe (Independent) 

Roy Thresher, Bampton Street, Minehead (Independent)

Voters will use the same polling station, St Michael’s Church in Alcombe, for both by-elections. 

It will be open from 7am-10pm.
