BISHOP Fox’s school has an ethos of high standards and high expectations for all the children it cares for.

The school works hard to create a caring and challenging learning environment, which allows every individual student to strive, enjoy and achieve.

Headteacher Kerry Tonkin took over the leadership of the school in January 2017. Before this she was the long-serving deputy to Paul Scutt, who had been at the school for 14 years.

The driven headteacher says the year has been busy and challenging, but rewarding at the same time.

She said: “This academic year has been very busy for all in our school community with many opportunities to maximise learning through high quality teaching and also through our extensive range of enrichment opportunities.

“This term we welcome our new Year 7 students who will be joining us for induction days in July. This is an important transition which we will ensure is fun as well as informative, so that students leave us looking forward to starting their secondary education in September.”

The school is preparing to say goodbye to its current cohort of Year 11s after their hard work during exam season.

The leader added: “We all wish our Year 11 leavers the best with this summer’s results; it’s been a very long and difficult exam season but we are proud of the way that they have worked hard and prepared for these exams.

“Their conduct has been exemplary.

“But it is now time for them to rest and regroup and we all look forward to celebrating together at the prom.”

Ms Tonkin owes the school’s success to great team work.

“I would like to use this opportunity to thank the governors of Bishop Fox’s, our amazing staff and parents,” she added.

“We can only achieve the very best for young people when we work in true partnership and create a positive environment where each individual can flourish.”
