The fire had spread to a nearby outbuilding as firefighters struggled to secure a water supply.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has issued a warning after a driver was blocking the fire hydrant with a parked car.

A spokesman said: "On arrival it was found that the fire had spread to outbuildings and a request for two additional pumps was made, these came from Minehead.

"A Pump from Nether Stowey was sent to Williton Station for standby duties."

"Crews worked hard for two and a half hours to bring the blaze under control using six breathing apparatus wearers and two jets.

"They had difficulty securing a water supply as a car was parked over the closest hydrant.

"Not only is this an offence, it could also put firefighters and members of public at greater risk.

"Please think when parking your car."

Once the crew had fully extinguished the fire the crew confirmed that one out building was 100 per cent damaged by fire. An adjoining garage which was also involved was 50 per cent damaged by fire and 75 per cent damaged by smoke.
