A MAN has been arrested after a police officer was assaulted and a horse was punched in Weston-super-Mare after England was kicked out of the World Cup.
Police horses, Quantock and Jubilee, were out on patrol with officers dealing with disorder in Weston after the game when an officer was attacked and Quantock was punched three times on Regent Street.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and criminal damage.

The news comes after police reported 13 incidents of disorder relating to the football were reported to them overnight.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said the officer and the horse are fine.
"We were called at about 9.50pm yesterday (July 11) to reports of disorder in Regent St, Weston-super-Mare shortly after England’s defeat to Croatia in the World Cup.
An officer was assaulted and our police horse Quantock was punched three times.
"A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and criminal damage."
Following the incident police have posted on social media saying the behaviour 'will not be tolerated'.

Chief Inspector John Holt said: “This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable and we will ensure all those involved in this disorder will be dealt with robustly.
“In particular, I would condemn in the strongest terms the individual who punched a police horse, which was there to ensure the safety of those enjoying the match.
“While England’s heroes won the pride and respect of the everyone in Russia, these individuals have let themselves down and should be ashamed to call themselves fans."
