VANDALS have smashed the windows of a Taunton-based council office.
Several windows have been boarded up at Deane House, Taunton Deane Borough Council's headquarters, after the vandals smashed the glass.
Deane House is currently undergoing a £7.5million refurb to bring the building up to standard.
According to the council the building, which was built in 1987, is structurally sound, many components such as the electrical and mechanical systems are coming to the end of the their natural life.
Multiple windows were hit at the council offices.
The council has confirmed the vandalism has not impacted on its day-to-day running, and the incident has been reported to police.
A spokesman said: "There was an incident and it has been reported to police. Some damage was caused to windows.
"This has not affected our services and the offices have been open for business throughout the day."
Avon and Somerset Police has been contacted for a comment.
