Taunton Summer Fun Trail

COMPLETE the trail around the town centre for your chance to be entered into the prize draw to win a Taunton Visitor Centre hamper.

Pick up your trail - £1per trail - from the Taunton Visitor Centre. Follow the trail around the town centre to find clues to the answers. The trail leaflet must be returned to the Visitor Centre on completion.For each trail brought back to the Taunton Visitor Centre a prize can be picked from our lucky dip basket and you will will also receive a free entry into the prize draw to win a Taunton Hamper.

- Storytelling at The Basins in Wellington

COME and listen to forgotten fairytales and legends from both near and far with storyteller Marianne Kavanagh. The story will begin at 2.30pm every Tuesday in August 7-28.

This is a FREE event for people of all ages young, old and in between but all children must be accompanied by an adult. Bring a camping chair or blanket and cushion. The friends of the basins will be serving tea, coffee and squash for donations.

Runs at The Basins, Springfield Road, Wellington, from 2.30pm-3.30pm.

- Lunchtime Concert - ‘The Muses Gardin for Delights’

‘The Muses Gardin for Delights’ was the title of Robert Jones’ 5th

book of ayres for voice and lute, published in 1610. There were

several such publications in this “Golden Age of English Music”, the pre-eminent composer being the lutenist John Dowland.

Takes place at St John’s Church, Park Street, Taunton, from 12.45pm and lasts 45 minutes.

Retro Cinema

- JOIN the Brewhouse this summer for a special screening of Sergio Leone’s Spaghetti Western classic, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (1966) – in colour – starring Clint Eastwood.

All takes place at 7.30pm on August 11.
