PLANS have been submitted to convert a former care home on Minehead seafront into six flats.
Banbridge House along The Esplanade closed in 2016/17 after a poor CQC report which outlined a number of concerns with the existing property and ultimately led to the collapse of the business.
It is currently being used as a 19 bedroom house of multiple occupancy (HMO) with communal bathrooms, living areas and kitchen.
A spokesman for the developer said: "As a consequence of the volume of occupants, the condition of the property has deteriorated rapidly and has become a detrimental sight along the seafront."
The developers want to add two three-storey extensions to the building and create five two-bedroom flats and one three-bedroom flat.
