IT'S a historic day for Somerset County Cricket Club.
The Cooper Associates County Ground side is celebrating its 143rd birthday.
The club was formed on August 17, 1875.
Ironically it came into existence at a meeting across the border in Sidmouth, Devon.
The first captain appointed after that meeting was the Rev Stirling Cookesely Voules.
