Charity offering funds to Somerset elderly

NATIONAL charity Help the Aged has set up a Somerset committee to raise funds for projects to enhance the lives of elderly people in the county.

The committee is inviting applications from the voluntary sector for funding towards small projects that will benefit the over 60s in Somerset. Funding cannot be granted to individuals.

Any organisation wishing to apply should write with a brief description of the scheme to Pamela Smith, Chairwoman Help the Aged, Accuro House, Belvedere Road, Taunton TA1 1BW.

The committee will review and assess the applications and meet with the organisers to decide on the projects to support.
