MINEHEAD Middle School celebrated last week with the opening of another new ICT suite.
During the summer holidays the school undertook a large building refurbishment programme, mainly concentrated on improving and upgrading ICT provision in the school.
Two suites were refurbished and an additional computer classroom created using the latest technology, enabling the school to communicate directly, in sound and vision, with other schools across the district.
Minehead Middle School will soon be using this technology to deliver French lessons to St Michaels, Dunster and St Dubricius first schools, using video conferencing techniques.
In total, five classrooms and a large office were totally refurbished during the summer holidays.
Head teacher Paul Rushforth, said: "With our investment in new cutting edge technology, our ICT facilities will be one of the best in the county, opening educational doors and giving access to all kinds of opportunities for pupils across West Somerset.
"Our thanks go to all the contractors involved, particularly to G A Sully Builders and Stafford and Coomber Electrics."
Melvin Sully, of G A Sully Builders, said: "The whole project was completed on time and without any problems due to the excellent communication between the school and the builders."
