KING'S College, Taunton's Combined Cadet Force is celebrating its new official ties with one of Britain's elite Army regiments.
The CCF has become affiliated with The Rifles after its Army section held an official re-badging parade.
Lt Col J W Hall, commanding officer of the Taunton TA Rifles battalion and a former King's College pupil, performed the ceremony and gave an address to 100 cadets.
He spoke movingly of the role of the current Rifles battalions and stressed the importance of the cadet connection to the modern army, where over 30% of the service are past cadets.
In another exciting development for King's CCF, female school captain Elle Marr is preparing to be installed as a Lord Lieutenant's Cadet ELECT at Wells early next month.
