CALL OUT: Crews were sent to Shakespeare Avenue
ONE Taunton resident received a very unwelcome Christmas present after their car caught fire in the early hours of Boxing Day.
Heroic firefighters set out at 1.23am this morning (Thursday, December 26) to Shakespeare Avenue in Taunton following several reports of a car fire.
On arrival the crews found the vehicle well alight and swiftly got to work using a hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus and small tools.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "The fire caused damage to the engine bay and dashboard.
"The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental."
