TRAFFIC: Car fire closes two lanes of bypass during rush hour
TWO lanes of the A361 were closed at rush hour yesterday after a car caught fire.
Fire crews were called out to the incident in Beckington, just before 5.30pm.
A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "Both pumps from Frome attended a car on fire on the A361 Frome bypass.
"The car was towing a caravan but only the car was involved in the fire.
"Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet, whilst also managing the traffic by closing two lanes of the highway."
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
