TAUNTON Rugby Club has confirmed that the committee has approved the decision to erect a new 100 seater stand at Veritas Park.

The plan is to develop the existing infrastructure on the railway side of the main pitch to hold a modern stand to facilitate the growing attendances for Titans matches.

Club president Dick Macey said this is a great step forward for the club.

"The new stand is good news for Taunton Rugby Club and we hope the fans will enjoy the proposed new facilities."

"Our committee approved the plans this week and it is still in the early stages as we have to get planning permission, but as there is a structure already there we are confident," Macey said.

The club has set the off season as the perfect time to build the new stand, meaning fans can make the most of the new seats for the first game next year.

The ground itself was sponsored by Veritas Glazing Solutions earlier this year in a multi-year deal for the naming rights.

Currently Taunton have been seeing an increased number of fans watching Titans matches, in part due to some good performances in their first season in the National League.

"We are pleased to see more people enjoying the Titans home games and see this new development as a way to cater for even more," Macey said.
