Ex Marine's challenge of endurance

A FORMER Royal Marine from Taunton is embarking on another challenge of endurance.

Alan Chambers and colleague Peter Herbert are leading an expedition crossing Greenland from east to west without any external aid, support or motor vehicles.

They will ski 600km in 40 days, dragging sledges weighing 200lbs in temperatures as low as -50degsC.

The aim of the expedition in May is to raise awareness about environmental challenges.

They will connect to schools through an interactive blog with photos, audio and video links.
