Help for parents of dyslexic children

THE British Dyslexia Association is running a half-day workshop in Taunton next Monday (March 3) to help parents of children with dyslexia.

The workshop will teach parents: the five areas where they can make a real difference in their child's life; what schools are trying to do and help parents understand how school's can teach their children most effectively; and to use what their child is entitled to by law.

The course, which is interactive and practical, will be run by experienced trainers who are able to empathise with parents' situations and suggest positive ways forward.

Vicki McNicol, Director of Development at the BDA, said: "These courses have been set up in response to requests from parents who want practical support for their dyslexic children. We run them across the country and they have been hugely popular so far.

"The course will allay some of the worries that parents of dyslexic children experience and they will leave with a number of methods to make a difference in their child's life."
