CADDY liners used in food waste bins will no longer be sold from Taunton Deane Council's offices at Deane House, Taunton, from next month.
The compostable liners can be bought from a range of outlets from supermarkets to small stores.
Residents can also line their caddies with old newspaper or kitchen towel - at low, or even no, cost.
The council stocked the liners when the SORT IT! food waste collections were introduced in the Taunton and Wellington areas in 2005.
A council spokeswoman said: "Suitable liners are certified to the EN13432 standard, which is shown by a looped seedling logo - all liners used for food waste collections must bear this logo."
Stockists of approved liners can be seen by clicking on the link below to Somerset Waste Partnership's website.
