Twelve to Two: Local TV stars Patricia and David Anderson reveal the secrets of appearing on Ready Steady Cook, at the retirement group's lunch meeting in the memorial hall on Wednesday, April 16, at 12noon.

Fun walk: Trull Primary School's annual fun walk is on Sunday, April 27, and anyone can join in. There will be questions along the way and prizes for every child who finishes. Walkers get their instructions between 2 and 2.30pm and will be able to buy refreshments at the school on their return.

Scout group: Cub leader Andrew Mountstephens has been awarded the Silver Cross by the Chief Scout in recognition of his gallantry when an angler had suffered a fit and was in danger of drowning. Andrew, who had just finished a canoeing session on the Tone, jumped into the river without hesitation, pulled the angler to safety and administered emergency first aid before the arrival of paramedics. He receives his award at the county presentation day this month.

Race time: Mary Dunmall, Trull's serial runner, is again seeking sponsorship in her efforts to raise money for the Albermarle Centre. She has already completed the Hestercombe Humdinger and the Cub Grizzly, both challenging and hilly nine-milers. She is joining the Hash House Harriers, who are dressing up as a wedding party, to run in the Taunton Half Marathon. She also hopes to get places in the Midsummer Dream Pu run (18 miles in the Seaton area in June), the Wellington 10K and the Charmouth to Golden Cap races, both in July. There are sponsor forms in the church and local shops. In previous years Rentokil has matched pound for pound whatever Mary has raised.

Memorial halls: The annual pancake lunch was well supported and raised over £87 for hall funds. Organisers Margaret Pegge and Pat Gaden thank Judy Hawkes, Jan May, Philip and Mary Stovell for their help.

Looking back: All Saints' Church will celebrate the 700th anniversary of the first appointment of a resident priest to Trull in 1308 during Party in the Park weekend - Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13. To illustrate church life over the centuries, an exhibition is being mounted in the parish rooms and in the church itself. Documents, plans, photographs, scrapbooks, crockery, badges and other memorabilia may be supplemented by material from the Somerset Records Office and the Somerset Studies Library. The organisers would welcome the loan of anything else which brings the past to life - programmes and pictures of events and items of human interest.

Mark McDermott is giving a talk on the history of the church on the Saturday morning and there will be an open-air service, probably on the Sunday afternoon.
