LIZZIE PINCOCK - 'My daughter who seized every day'

6:41pm Wednesday 16th April 2008

LIZZIE'S broken-hearted mother has told how she gained comfort from learning that Lizzie had been asleep when the accident happened.

She said: "They were on a coach that was regularly maintained and of reasonable quality. Unfortunately, they were in the wrong place at the wrong time - our daughter and the other girls were unfortunate with their position in the coach.

"I just think it was a freak accident. It could have just as easily happened in England or any major road in Europe."

The South American gap year trip had been a focus for Lizzie for over a year.

Her mother said: "She was really happy, and while we're completely broken up without her we know she'd expect us to be strong and pull together, give comfort to her friends and receive comfort from the hundreds of friends she has made throughout the world in her short life."

Mrs Pincock said Lizzie had huge verve, vigour and enthusiasm for life, which was extremely contagious.

She said: "Lizzie always put 120% into every task she undertook - she was always looking for new opportunities.

"She seized every day and made the most of it. She packed more into her 19 years than most of us will in a lifetime."
