AN elderly man was rescued from a fire in his flat.
Firefighters took the man to safety after they were called to the incident in Russett Road, Taunton, at 10.27pm on Sunday.
The victim was suffering from smoke inhalation.
He was treated at the scene and then taken to Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital.
Fire crews put out the blaze in the kitchen and ventilated the flat.
